About
Yinglei Zhang began practicing Chinese calligraphy at the age of 7. She continued her studies under Master Guo Ziyu and Master Li Xubai, and has studied western drawing and oil painting, Chinese Art history, and holds an MA with a focus in Comparative Art. Her diverse background as well as her love of Vermont's nature and its landscapes have helped form her unique style. Strength, toughness, and the beauty of aging are common themes in her paintings, which feature black ink or limited color on Xuan paper. Her paintings and calligraphies have been collected privately in the United States, France, England, and China.
Yinglei currently teaches Chinese painting at many institutions throughout New England.
